Automatic Fire Sprinkler & Pre-action Systems

Properly installed and maintained automatic fire sprinkler systems help save lives. Because fire sprinkler systems react so quickly, they can dramatically reduce the heat, flames and smoke produced in a fire. Fire sprinklers are extremely reliable.

Pre-action fire sprinkler systems employ the basic concept of a dry pipe system in that water is not normally contained within the pipes. The difference, however, is that water is held from piping by an electrically operated valve, known as a pre-action valve. Valve operation is controlled by independent flame, heat, or smoke detection. Two separate events must happen to initiate sprinkler discharge. First, the detection system must identify a developing fire and then open the pre-action valve. This allows water to flow into system piping, which effectively creates a wet pipe sprinkler system. Second, individual sprinkler heads must release to permit water flow onto the fire.

Fire Hydrant & Hose Reel Systems

In a building, a fire hydrant system is a safety measure or emergency equipment required in some buildings that comprises a series of components that when assembled together provide a source of water to assist fire authorities in a fire. Putting it another way, a fire hydrant system is a water supply with a sufficient pressure and flow delivered through pipes throughout a building to strategically located network of valves for fire-fighting purposes.

In some circumstances, water from a reticulated fire hydrant system can also be shared with other safety measures such as automatic fire sprinkler systems or fire hose reels.

Fire protection systems include fire alarms, automatic fire detection, and fire suppression systems. Fire alarm and detection systems range from simple, single-station smoke alarms for private homes, to complex fire detection and control systems for high-rise buildings. .

The most common type of fire suppression system is the automatic sprinkler system. The basic operating principles of an automatic sprinkler system are simple. A system of water pipes is installed throughout a building to deliver water to every area where a fire might occur. Depending on the design and occupancy of the building, these pipes may be placed above or below the ceiling.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV), also known as video surveillance, is the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitors. Though almost all video cameras fit this definition, the term is most often applied to those used for surveillance in areas that may need monitoring such as banks, casinos, airports, military installations, and convenience stores.

Air conditioning (A/C) is the process of removing heat from a confined space, thus cooling the air, and removing humidity. This process is used to achieve a more comfortable interior environments, typically for humans or animals; however, air conditioners are also used to cool rooms filled with heat-producing electronic devices, such as computer servers or power amplifiers. Air conditioners often use a fan to distribute the conditioned air to an occupied space such as a building or a car to improve thermal comfort and indoor air quality. Electric refrigerant-based AC units range from small units that can cool a small bedroom, which can be carried by a single adult to massive units installed on the roof of office towers that can cool an entire building. The cooling is typically achieved through a refrigeration cycle, but sometimes evaporation or free cooling is used. Air conditioning systems can also be made based on desiccants.
